About the role

Join Quill Analytics as a Graduate Petroleum Engineer in Managua and help us ship reliable software that customers depend on.

Job description

Quill Analytics is hiring a Graduate Petroleum Engineer to join the team in Managua, Nicaragua. We're a growing organisation in our space and the next person in this seat will help us scale how we serve customers across the region.

You'll own end-to-end delivery of features in our core platform — from technical design through to production rollout. Our stack favours modern web technologies, clean APIs, and a strong testing culture, and we deploy multiple times a day behind feature flags.

This role is fully remote. You'll partner closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers and report into the relevant team lead. We move fast, give people real ownership, and keep the bureaucracy low — if that sounds like the kind of environment you do your best work in, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and maintain features that ship to production every week behind a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Pair with product managers and designers to scope work and translate requirements into clean technical solutions.
  • Write well-tested, readable code and uphold quality through pull-request reviews.
  • Investigate production incidents, find root causes, and put preventative monitoring in place.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions for new services and migrations across the engineering org.
  • Improve developer experience by refining tooling, build pipelines, and documentation.

What you'll need

  • 2+ years of professional experience shipping production software.
  • Strong fundamentals in at least one server-side language (Go, Python, Node, Java, PHP) and a modern frontend framework.
  • Practical knowledge of relational databases, message queues, and HTTP-based APIs.
  • Track record of debugging gnarly production issues and writing clear post-mortems.
  • Excellent written communication — you can document decisions so the team understands them six months later.

Perks & benefits

  • Annual learning budget you can spend on courses, books, or conferences
  • Paid parental leave of 16 weeks for primary carers
  • Sponsored attendance at one major industry conference per year
  • Free team lunches every Friday and quarterly company offsites
  • Clear progression framework reviewed every six months
